ST. LOUIS — A Corvette driver is suing a semi-trailer truck driver, citing alleged negligence.
Antonio Veal filed a complaint in the St. Louis Circuit Court against John Wheeler alleging that he failed to exercise the highest degree of care under the circumstances.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 16, 2015, he was operating a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette traveling westbound on Lindell Boulevard and was stopped at the intersection of North Street when the defendant's semi-trailer truck struck his vehicle while making a left turn. He allegedly sustained severe and permanent injuries resulting in significant pain, substantial loss of wages and medical expenses.
The plaintiff holds Wheeler responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently made a left turn when it was unsafe to do so, failed to maintain careful lookout and wrongfully ignored plaintiff's honking as his truck smashed plaintiff's vehicle.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in excess of $25,000, plus costs of this action and all other remedy as the court deems appropriate. He is represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
