ST. LOUIS — A motor vehicle passenger is suing the driver of a car that hit the vehicle he was riding in, citing alleged negligence.
Daniel Cockrell filed a complaint on Nov. 29 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Sarah Garvin alleging that she failed to operate her motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 29, 2012, he was a passenger in a motor vehicle traveling south on South Kingshighwayat its intersection with Chippewa when the defendant's car entered the intersection and struck the vehicle. Cockrell allegedly sustained physical injuries resulting in pain, debilitation and medical expenses.
The plaintiff holds Garvin responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain careful lookout; failed to give any signal or warning of her approach; and failed to slow down, stop or swerve to avoid collision.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $25,000, plus costs expended for this action. He is represented by Cecil L. Skaggs of Central West End Law Office in St. Louis.
