ST. LOUIS — A vehicle driver is suing another motorist, citing alleged negligence.
Willie McMiller filed a complaint on Nov. 22 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Xiaoyan Liu alleging that the defendant failed to use the highest degree of care in operating his vehicle on a public roadway.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 1 he was driving northbound on Taylor, just north of its intersection with West Pine, when his vehicle was allegedly struck by Liu's vehicle as he pulled out of an alley. As a result, McMiller claims he sustained physical injuries and incurred medical expenses amounting to $8,600.
The plaintiff holds Liu responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to yield the right of way, failed to keep a careful lookout and operated his vehicle at an excessive rate of speed.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount in excess of $25,000 to compensate for injuries and damages, for costs incurred, and for any such further relief as the court deems just and proper. He is represented by Julie L. Siegel of Frankel, Rubin, Klein, Dubin, Siegel & Payne, PC in St. Louis.
