Owners sued after 3 pit bulls allegedly attack woman

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis resident is suing two dog owners, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries from a dog attack.

Terry Conway filed a complaint on Nov. 22 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Leon Harris and Euarlene Harris for alleged violation of the Missouri Revised Statutes or Missouri Dog Bite Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 7, 2016, she was taking her garbage out of her residence when she was attacked by three pit bull dogs owned by the defendants. Plaintiff claims she was attacked by the dogs without provocation; bitten on her right ankle, foot and buttocks; and knocked to the ground.

As a result, Conway claims she sustained a fractured right wrist, emotional damages, pain and suffering; and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Leon Harris and Euarlene Harris responsible because the defendants allegedly failed their duty as dog owners or possessor of any dog to keep animals away from any person while such person is on public property, or lawfully on private property, including the property of the owner or possessor of the dog.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment in an amount in excess of $25,000 together with costs expended, and for any such other and further relief as the court deems just and proper under the circumstances. She is represented by Shaun M. Falvey of Goldblatt + Singer, PC in St. Louis.
