Alleged hit-and-run driver, passenger sued

Car accident 12

ST. LOUIS — A driver and passenger are suing two motorists, citing alleged negligence.

Michelle Phillips and Iesha Fleming filed a complaint on Nov. 28 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Stephanie Ennis and John Doe alleging that they failed to exercise the highest degree of care in operating their motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on July 15 Phillips and Fleming were in a motor vehicle traveling southbound on South 14th Street when one of the defendants negligently caused their vehicle to collide with the plaintiffs' vehicle and then fled the scene. The plaintiffs allegedly sustained bodily injuries resulting in pain, loss of enjoyment of life, decreased mobility and medical expenses.

The plaintiffs hold defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to maintain proper control of the vehicle they were driving, failed to maintain careful lookout, and failed to slacken speed, stop or swerve to avoid collision.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury; and seek damages of more than $25,000, costs of this action and any other relief that the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by Kyle Kleefus of Law Offices of Derald L. Gab PC in St. Louis.
