Driver accused of negligence in head-on collision

Webp car accident 34

ST. LOUIS — A driver and his passenger are suing another motorist, alleging he was negligent in a head-on collision.

Junius Ranciville and Michaela Ranciville filed a complaint on Nov. 22 in the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Khem-ra Peal alleging that the driver failed to maintain proper control of a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Aug. 2 they were in a 2015 Nissan Maxima traveling southbound on Goodfellow Boulevard when the defendant attempted to pass another vehicle, lost control of the vehicle he was driving and collided head-on with the plaintiffs' vehicle. The plaintiffs sustained injuries to their backs, necks, hands and other parts of their bodies; and were caused to suffer pain and suffering, medical expenses and lost wages.

The plaintiffs hold Peal responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently drove his vehicle in excess of the posted speed limit, failed to keep his vehicle in his lane of travel and failed to stop or swerve to avoid colliding with the plaintiffs' vehicle.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages in excess of $25,000, costs, and any other relief that the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by Kevin A. Sullivan of Sauter Sullivan LLC in St. Louis.
