Slip01

ST. LOUIS — A visitor to the Community College of St. Louis is suing the school, citing alleged negligence.

Laquita Frazier filed a complaint on Nov. 30 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against The Community College District of St. Louis alleging that the political subdivision failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 9, 2015, she was walking down the steps at the defendant's Tower C at the Forest Park Campus when she slipped and fell on a damaged step. She allegedly sustained injuries to her ankle; and was caused to suffer pain, medical expenses, and loss of ability to work and to enjoy life.

The plaintiff holds defendant responsible for allegedly failing to remedy a known dangerous condition, barricade it or warn of it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages in an amount that exceeds the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court and any further relief as the court deems necessary. She is represented by Lorenzo Hester of The Hester Group LLC in St. Louis.
