ST. LOUIS — A bystander is suing the City of St. Louis and Mardi Gras Inc., parade organizers, citing alleged negligence.
Sarah Isaacs filed a complaint on Dec. 12 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they failed to properly train and supervise the driver of a four-wheel drive vehicle known as a "Gator."
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 1, 2014 she was standing on Russell Boulevard watching the Mardi Gras parade when a fireman who was operating the defendants' Gator truck drove over her left foot. She suffered multiple fractures, resulting in pain and suffering, medical care and surgical expenses, and loss of enjoyment of life.
The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because their driver allegedly failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to exercise the highest degree of care to avoid striking pedestrians.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks compensatory damages in a fair and reasonable amount, costs of this action, and all further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by John G. Simon, Kevin M. Carnie Jr. and Patrick R. McPhail of The Simon Law Firm PC in St. Louis.
