Motorist allegedly failed to see traffic signal, causing collision

Car accident 33

ST. LOUIS — A driver is suing another motorist, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Elhadrami Ould Sidi Mohamed filed a complaint on Dec. 10 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Ronnie Wessel alleging that the motorist failed his duty to exercise the highest degree of care while driving his vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 1 his vehicle was stopped as he reached the intersection of North Broadway when he was allegedly struck by the defendant's vehicle when Wessel failed to stop on a flashing red light controlling the traffic in both directions. As a result, Mohamed claims he sustained physical injuries, was severely impaired and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Wessel responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout, failed to yield and failed to stop at the signal.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment in an amount that is in excess of the court's minimum jurisdictional amount that will fairly and adequately compensate for the injuries, and for such other further relief as the court deems just and equitable. He is represented by Brian Stokes of The Stokes Law Office in St. Louis.
