ST. LOUIS – A pedestrian alleges she needed surgery after a fall purportedly caused by a broken section of concrete in a St. Louis sidewalk.
Mary Covington filed a complaint on April 5 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the city of St. Louis alleging breach of duty of ordinary care.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 27, 2017, she was injured when she tripped and fell while walking on the sidewalk on the east side of Whittier Street. She alleges she suffered injuries to her face, wrist and hand and incurred medical expenses of approximately $25,000.
The plaintiff holds the city of St. Louis responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warning of the unreasonably dangerous condition.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $25,000, plus costs expended for this suit. She is represented by Timothy L. Hill in St. Louis.
